UW vet school employee facing animal abuse charges
Complaint: Woman left cat behind after being evicted from condo
A University of Wisconsin school of veterinary medicine employee is facing felony charges and a potential $10,000 fine after reportedly abandoning her pets after being evicted, according to a criminal complaint.
Charges were filed against Marcia Frazier Tuesday.
The complaint said deputies showed up at a condo where she'd been living in November to serve an eviction notice and found a dead cat.
Frazier admitted to a Dane County humane officer she'd left two cats behind. According to the complaint, Frazier told the humane officer that after she moved out in July, "I thought the bank would figure it out since they're the ones who evicted me."
She also said she'd called animal shelters but they were all full.
Frazier is due back in court next month.
