(CNN) -- The Department of Defense late Thursday identified two U.S. soldiers killed in a suicide bomb attack in Afghanistan's Kunar province as Maj. Thomas E. Kennedy of West Point, New York, and Command Sgt. Maj. Kevin J. Griffin of Laramie, Wyoming. The two men were assigned with HHC Company, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado.
