Teen who died in Green Co. jail identified
Sheriff: 17-year-old died from medical condition
Authorities identified the inmate who died in custody Wednesday morning at the Green County Jail.
Sheriff Jeff Skatrud said 17-year-old Kyle Peotter was found unresponsive in a cell at about 6 a.m. The report also said Peotter was not breathing.
In a news release Thursday morning, Skatrud said Peotter had been an inmate in the Green County Jail since Sept. 27, 2012. He said the teen was in custody on a probation hold issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
Authorities said an autopsy was conducted Wednesday and the final report is pending for toxicology tests results, which the sheriff said will not be available for several weeks at the earliest.
Skatrud said initial information indicates Peotter died as a result of a medical condition.
Monroe Police continue to conduct an investigation into Peotter's death.
The sheriff also said no additional information will be available regarding this incident until the investigation is completed and the final autopsy report has been received.
