JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Wis. -

An Oxford woman was killed when she lost control of her vehicle on a slippery road, crossed the center line and struck a semi Sunday morning, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to State Highway 82 just east of 2nd Avenue in Jackson Township at 11:47 a.m. for a report of a crash.

Investigators said a vehicle driven by Cerissa Hart, 26, was traveling west on Highway 82 when it crossed the center line and struck an eastbound semi driven by Joseph Sobeck, 40, of Elroy. They said Sobeck could not avoid the crash and the two vehicles hit head-on.

Hart was ejected and pronounced dead on the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to deputies.

The Wisconsin State Patrol reconstruction team assisted in the investigation.
