MADISON, Wis. -

Madison police were called out Friday morning after several concerned citizens called to report hearing five to seven gunshots on the city's West Side.

The incident happened at around 2:50 a.m. in the 5300 block of Hammersley Road, according to police.

Witnesses reported hearing several more gun shots a short time later but from further away.

Responding officers didn't find any evidence of a shooting.

Around 10:40 a.m. Friday, officers were sent to a duplex in the 1400 block of Theresa Terrace.

Residents reported hearing gunshots earlier in the morning and had found several bullets had penetrated a door to one home.

No one was hurt and shell casings were recovered.
