Sheriff retires with nearly 2 years left on term
Nehls served as sheriff 10 years
Dodge County Sheriff Todd Nehls says he will retire March 8, nearly two years before the end of his elected term.
Nehls started with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department in 1987 and was elected sheriff in 2002. He has served as a traffic patrolman, corporal and lieutenant.
“I have been blessed to serve my community and county for 34 years. I am so very proud of the sheriff’s department and the people we have. All are top notch,” said Nehls.
Nehls’ term runs through Jan. 2015. A replacement to fill his term will be appointed by the governor.
Nehls also serves as a Colonel in Wisconsin National Guard and will retire form that assignment this summer after 35 years of service.
