Sentencing for former Walker aide could be delayed
Aide must testify in another case
The upcoming sentencing for a former aide to Gov. Scott Walker may be postponed so the aide can testify in another case early next month.
Darlene J. Wink pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges of working on a political campaign while she was supposed to be doing her county job for Walker, then the Milwaukee County executive.
She's due to be sentenced Wednesday, but a prosecutor on Friday said he plans to ask for a postponement.
Assistant district attorney Bruce Landgraf said he'll ask the judge to push the sentencing hearing back so Wink can testify against Tim Russell on Dec. 3. Russell is accused of stealing more than $21,000 from a nonprofit organization Walker asked him to head.
A message left with Wink's defense attorney was not immediately returned.
