SUV with 4 kids loses wheel, flips; several hurt
Children in Racine County crash not properly restrained
Racine County authorities said a wheel came off an SUV in which two adults and four young children were riding, causing the vehicle to roll several times. Several people suffered injuries that aren't believed to be life-threatening.
The sheriff's office said the crash happened Friday afternoon in Mount Pleasant. Deputies found the vehicle on its roof in a ditch, with several injured people standing outside.
Authorities said the SUV went into the ditch and rolled after the rear passenger-side wheel came off. The 25-year-old man who was driving was partially ejected. A 24-year-old passenger in the front seat and a 1-year-old boy in the back seat were thrown from the vehicle.
Three other children under the age of 6 were in the back seat. They weren't in proper safety seats.
