Two restaurant employees were robbed at gunpoint on Madison’s west side early Sunday morning as they were closing the store up for the night, police said.
Employees of La Bamba Mexican Restaurant at 710 S. Gammon Road were finishing their closing duties around 3:35 a.m., according to a release.
When one employee briefly unlocked a door, he was immediately confronted by a man pointing a handgun at him, police said.
The employee was ordered back into the store and both employees were forced to lie on the ground, according to the release. The robber stole cash before leaving the area on foot in an unknown direction.
One employee suffered minor injuries from being pushed to the ground, police said.
The robber is described as black with light skin, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a black bandana or scarf covering the lower part of his face.
