A substation issue is being blamed for a power outage affecting 2,300 customers on Madison’s west side Monday afternoon.

Dispatchers tell WISC-TV power is coming back on in some areas and police are working to restore traffic controls in the affected areas.

Madison Gas and Electric is working on the problem.
