Police investigate pellet gun incidents at Memorial High School
15-year-old cited for being in possession of pellet gun
Madison police said they responded to two incidents involving Airsoft pellet guns at Memorial High School last Friday afternoon.
Police said a teacher saw a 15-year-old student tuck a weapon in the waistband of his pants around 1:05 p.m. in the school parking lot and then leave in a car.
The vehicle was located parked at Elver Park, and the pellet gun was in the car, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.
Police said they cited the student for being armed with a pellet gun under the age of 18.
Earlier in the day, it was discovered that another student had brought several Airsoft guns to school in a backpack, police said.
The Airsoft guns were not used to threaten or intimidate anyone, and it appears the student was taking them somewhere for recreational purposes after school, police said.
Police said the two cases are not connected.
