Madison police said two muggings in the same area of the city Saturday morning might be connected.
A 20-year-old University of Wisconsin-Madison student told police he was walking in the 200 block of Langdon Street at 3:26 a.m. when 3 men, 20-25 years old, emerged from a dark alley and demanded money. He said he was knocked to the ground and might have also been punched.
The men fled with his wallet.
In the same area at 3:34 a.m., another 20-year-old student told police he was mugged by two men. He said he was pinned against a parked car while one mugger grabbed at his throat. The robbers demanded and took money from the victim.
The suspects in the second incident are described as black, 25 to 29 years old. One man was 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall with a slender build, hair worn in dreads and wearing a V-neck T-shirt.
The other man was 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inch tall with a medium build and wearing a gray vest over a white T-shirt and a black hat.
