DARLINGTON, Wis. -

Two videos released by police show cellphone thieves breaking into a Darlington store.

Darlington Police Chief Jason King asked the public's help in identifying the two men seen in the surveillance video from the U.S. Cellular store.

King said the videos show two men throwing rocks through the U.S. Cellular glass door.

King said the thieves were only in the store a brief time but they managed to steal $27,711 worth of iPhones.

The timing of the theft was seconds after a 911 call was placed to dispatchers reporting an attack and rape in progress in a cemetery in Darlington. The report was unfounded, and it is now believed the 911 call was fake and intended to divert resources away from the burglary.
