A Madison teenager was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon after being confronted by officers, according to Madison police.
Police said they were patrolling in the Britta Parkway area on Dec. 27 when at 2:40 p.m. they spotted two teens they said they were concerned about because of their connection to a residence in the neighborhood.
The officers said they confronted the males and asked them to remove their hands from their pockets. Devin J. Long, 18, of Madison complied but a 16-year-old from Madison did not, according to officers.
The 16-year-old was detained and searched and officers said they found a handgun, ammunition, and 7 grams of marijuana.
Long was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and on a probation violation.
