Madison police say a 29-year-old man had money and his cellphone stolen from him after two men he socialized with at a downtown bar mugged him later that night.
A 29-year-old man was mugged in a parking lot downtown early Sunday morning after socializing with the same people earlier in the evening, according to Madison police.
The incident happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday in a parking lot in the 400 block of West Gilman St.
According to police, the man, who was drunk at the time, told police the men punched and choked him in the parking lot before taking his money and his cellphone.
Police said the victim wasn't injured but was taken to a hospital due to being extremely drunk.
