Platteville police are investigating a report of a possible child abduction attempt Thursday night.

Police responded to the area of Second and Dewey streets around 7:45 p.m., officials said.

A juvenile was walking in the area when a man jumped out of the bushes and tried to grab him, according to a release.

The man was last seen running south on Second Street.

The man is described as white, in his 30s, with a mustache. He was wearing a red, cutoff shirt, black shorts and blue socks pulled up to his calves.
