A pilot walked away unhurt after his plane crashed in Spring Grove Township Saturday.
The Green County Sheriff's Office reported that a single-engine plane was trying to land at the Brodhead Airport when the plane hit a dip in the runway. The rear of the plane went up, causing the plane's nose to collide with the ground and overturn.
Authorities said Frank Beckman, 71, of Beloit, was piloting the airplane and was not hurt. He was flying a 1941 single-engine Aeronca 65CA, according to authorities.
The Department of Natural Resources responded to the crash for a small gas leak.
The FAA is investigating the crash.
