MADISON, Wis. -

Madison police said a pizza delivery driver's car was stolen early Saturday morning when he went into a service station for a bathroom break.

The pizza delivery driver pulled into Kelly Williamson Mobil at 636 W. Washington Ave. about 2:25 a.m.

He parked in the front, leaving the car running and unlocked with his Falbo Brothers Pizzeria bag on the back seat, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

While he was inside the service station, his 1998 Honda disappeared.

He called 911 to report his car was stolen.

A couple of hours later, around 5 a.m., his stolen car was found in the 2900 block of East Washington Ave. It has been abandoned in a traffic lane, police said.

A responding officer surmised that it may have run out of gas, according to the incident report.

The thief, the victim's car keys and his pizza bag were nowhere to be found, police said.
