A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Monday evening, said police.
The call came in at 8:33 p.m. that a crash occurred on eastbound Highway 12/18, east of Millpond Road, said police. The City of Madison Police Department responded to the call.
Police said the driver's automobile was having trouble and she stopped the vehicle on the highway. She crossed the highway to get help, according to police, and was struck on her way back to her vehicle.
The woman was taken to the hospital. She is alive and not in critical condition, said police.
The motorist who struck the woman will not be charged.
