MADISON, Wis. -

A man driving on Williamson Street Thursday afternoon died because of a medical emergency and crashed his truck into a light pole, Madison police said.

According to a release, the man in his 60s died at a hospital after the crash on Williamson Street around 1:30 p.m.

Witnesses said the man’s truck suddenly veered off the road and hit a light pole.

Investigators said the man most likely had some sort of medical emergency, and that caused his death not the impact of the crash.

The man was driving a truck owned by his employer at the time of the crash, officials said.
