SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. -

A female passenger on a motorcycle was killed in a crash with a car Sunday.

The Sun Prairie Police Department said it responded to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a car at about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Town Hall Road and state Highway 19 near Sun Prairie.

Sun Prairie police said a 47-year-old woman was riding with a 53-year-old man on a motorcycle, traveling west on Highway 19.

Police said they were struck by a car driven by a 33-year-old man. Police said the car was turning onto the highway when it hit the motorcycle.

Police said the motorcycle driver and the passenger on the motorcycle were transported to a hospital, where the passenger later died.

Authorities identified the passenger as Kim M. Sylvia, 47, Marshall.

Police said the motorcycle driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the car's driver was treated and released.

Police said there was no indication that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The crash prompted authorities to shut down both directions of traffic for several hours Sunday evening.
