TOWN OF LAGRANGE, Wis. -

An East Troy man was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorcycle was found crashed into a tree, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called at 9:06 p.m. Saturday to Pleasant Lake Road just south of Oakwood Drive, in the town of LaGrange, on a report of a motorcycle crash.

Deputies found a red 1999 Kawasaki motorcycle crashed into a tree and the lone male rider lying unresponsive in the ditch a short distance away.

Walter M. Kraayvanger Jr., 38, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Investigators said the motorcycle was northbound on Pleasant Lake Rd when it left the pavement to the right, reentered the pavement and lost control. The motorcycle went off the left side of the road, went into the ditch and struck multiple trees.

Lauderdale-LaGrange Fire and Rescue and the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted at the scene.
