A missing boater who triggered a search on Lake Michigan off Racine County's Wind Point has been found safe on land.
The Racine County Sheriff's Department said the man was spotted by a member of the media shortly before 8 a.m. Monday. The U.S. Coast Guard and sheriff's department launched a search for the man after another person in the fishing boat told authorities he swam to shore after a wave knocked him into the water.
The man who swam to shore about 3 a.m. said a second man was still in the boat. Deputies found the empty boat near the Wind Point Lighthouse and began their search.
