Milton School District names interim superintendent
Mike Garrow remains on leave following complaint
Parents in Milton said they want answers about the school district superintendent, who's still getting paid to take time off.
Mike Garrow has been on paid leave since October after the school board informed him that a complaint had been filed against him.
A team of three administrators has been running the Milton School District.
On Thursday, the school board named Theresa Rusch, principal at Milton East Elementary School, the interim superintendent of the district.
Although the district's investigation into Garrow is complete, it isn't sharing details on the complaint or whether it involved other employees or students.
Concerned parents said they just want answers.
"I would like to know overall how much it's going to cost the school district with a paid leave for the current superintendent and looking for a replacement, what the total cost for that will be," said parent Sheila Martin.
"The concern (is) that they might hire a second superintendent and pay the current superintendent until June. That's an awful lot of money that could be used in the classroom," said parent Lisa Messer.
Parents who spoke with WISC-TV said they've had a positive experience with the district and hope this doesn't impact Milton's reputation
Milton's school board president confirmed that Garrow will be on leave with full pay and benefits through the rest of the school year.
