Metro driver punched by teen
Dispute started over ID card
A Madison Metro driver was punched in the face by a teenager after asking the teen to show him an ID card, according to police.
Police said they were called to the 2000 of Aberg Avenue Saturday at 8:19 p.m.
The 59-year-old driver told police the teenager tried to board his bus using a student pass and when he asked for an ID card the teen and two of his friends began yelling that they didn’t need an ID card.
The driver said he was going to radio for police and was punched in the face by a closed fist while doing so.
The teen fled.
He’s described as black, 15 to 18 years old, 5-feet 5-inches to 5-feet 8-inches tall, weighing 150 to 200 pounds, with a stocky build and wearing a white hoodie and dark colored pants.
