CAMBRIDGE, Wis. -

The Marshall High School Cardinals boys' basketball team took control in the race to win the Capitol South conference by beating Cambridge 80-70 on the road Tuesday.

Both teams took 5-1 records into Tuesday night's game in Cambridge, played before a packed crowd.

The game went back and forth game early. Cambridge's Erik Engelstad helped lead the way early for the Bluejays.

But it wasn't enough to keep up with Marshall. Ethan Janke tipped a stolen pass to sophomore Cam Ward to get a crucial bucket. Ward had a game high 29 points.
