MADISON, Wis. -

A Madison man was mugged at gunpoint Tuesday night on Madison's east side, police said.

Madison police said a 40-year-old man was walking in the area of North Marquette Street at 11:30 p.m. when a teenager with a handgun held him up.

The teen took his cash and his cellphone, according to the report. The early investigation indicates the victim was targeted and that the mugging wasn't a random crime.

Police said the mugger was described as black, in his late teens, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He had short hair in dreadlocks and was wearing a white shirt and dark shorts.
