Police: Suspect passed a note to teller and fled on foot

MADISON, Wis. -

A man wearing a long-haired black wig and sunglasses robbed the Guaranty Bank inside Copps grocery store on Junction Road Wednesday morning, according to police.

The suspect passed a note to the teller just before 11 a.m. and implied he had a gun, though police said no weapon was observed at the scene. According to a Madison police incident report, the suspect is described as white, in his 30s, about 5-foot 8-inches tall wearing a dark leather coat, jeans, silver sunglasses and the wig. The suspect fled on foot to the Copps parking lot.

Anyone recognizing the suspect is asked to contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 266-6014.  Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.
