A Lac du Flambeau man is dead after what appears to be a drowning in Vilas County.

The Wausau Daily Herald reports 41-year-old Thomas Soper was pulled from Gunlock Lake Wednesday afternoon.

The sheriff's department received a call just after noon reporting the possible drowning.

Deputies say the cause of death has not yet been determined.
