A Madison man told police he woke at 11:30 a.m. Monday to the sound of someone forcing himself through the door of his apartment.

The 21-year-old victim yelled and chased the burglar out of him home in the 3100 block of Muir Field Road, according to police.

The burglar used a tire iron to pry open the door, but police said he left empty-handed.

The burglar is described as Hispanic, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 210 pounds, and wearing a white T-shirt and red shorts.
