The City of Madison extended the snow emergency into Sunday. That means that alternate-side parking restrictions will be in effect throughout Madison including the downtown/isthmus snow emergency zone until 7 a.m. Sunday, according to the city’s Streets Division.
Madison residents are asked to remove all vehicles from the street if possible. Parking is available in the cashiered sections of city-owned ramps in the downtown. The city said that during a declared snow emergency, Madisonians can park at city-owned ramps from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m. for no charge.
Officials from the Madison Streets Division said residents who park on the street Saturday evening must do so on the odd-numbered side. Violations to the alternate side parking rules are punishable by a fine of $60 and violators could be towed.
The city said the snow emergency will remain in effect until at least 7 a.m. on Sunday.
Additional information on parking alternatives is available online.
