MPD says man stole running car from Stop-N-Go
Police seek info on man in surveillance photos
Madison police have released surveillance video stills of a man investigators believe stole a car from a Near East gas station last month.
According to Madison police spokesman Joel DeSpain, a 60-year-old Madison man was at Stop-N-Go on Winnebago Street at about 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 21. The man left his 2003 Buick LeSabre unlocked and running as he went into the store to grab a cup of coffee, police said.
According to the report, a man got into the LeSabre and drove away. The stolen car was recovered six days later, abandoned under the East Buckeye Road bridge on Interstate 90 with drug paraphernalia left inside, DeSpain said.
DeSpain asked anyone with information on the identity of the man in the photos to call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
