Loraine "Lori" Cecilia Horne, age 92, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013, at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born in Hugo, MN, on December 4, 1920, the daughter of the late Eli and Alice (Ethier) Guertin. She married Samuel Horne on October 3, 1952. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1964.
Lori was employed by Coca-Cola Bottling in Madison, Badger Ordinance, and retired from the Sauk Prairie Star in 2005 at the age of 84, after being employed there for over 35 years. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casino, and visiting with friends. She was also an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan.
She is survived by five children, Marlene Kirch, Mary Roelke, Jackie Tarnutzer, Michael Horne and Ron Horne; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Greenheck; two sons, Jack Horne and Walter Raba; 2 grandchildren, Brad and Billy Roelke; two great-grandchildren, Alicia Roelke and Matt Anderson; two brothers, Don Guertin and Francis "Smiles" Kelly; and her step-father, Walter Kelly.
A private service will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Monona.
A visitation will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2013.
