The Dane County Sheriff's Office is reminding motorists to expect some traffic delays on Sunday due to the Ironman triathlon.
The race started at about 7 a.m. Sunday at Lake Monona.
The triathlon consists of a 2.4-mile swim, then a 112-mile bike ride throughout Dane County and a 26.2-mile marathon on Sunday.
The finish line is set near the Monona Terrace on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
More than 2,500 athletes are participating in the event.

Throughout the day, sheriff's deputies and other law enforcement agencies will be directing traffic at major intersections along the course.
Drivers are urged to use caution when approaching these intersections and follow the traffic directions given by law enforcement to ensure their safety and the safety of the Ironman participants and spectators.
Each year, this race brings thousands of dollars to businesses in Dane County.
