Friday was the last day to cast absentee ballots for the recall general election and the last one came in at the Madison City Clerk's Office at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
Clerk's office employees said they extended hours because of the high volume of voters seeking to cast their ballot ahead of the June 5 recall election.
Employees said upward of 1,250 people voted on Friday -- the most of any day so far, officials said.
Overall, more than 182,000 people requested absentee ballots. In Madison, the clerk's office distributed more than 14,000 ballots.
The Government Accountability Board said more than 50,000 people voted in the last two days.
