Madison police closed off a south Madison neighborhood Saturday evening after officers heard gunshots.

Police surrounded the 100 block of Koster Street just after 5 p.m.

Eventually the subject came out with an injury to his hand and was taken to the hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
