The U.S. Department of Labor has announced a $2 million grant to help about 755 workers affected by the closure of four Wisconsin manufacturers.
The grant is awarded to the state Department of Workforce Development. The money is intended to provide job training, placement services and career counseling.
The four companies are Joerns Healthcare Inc. of Stevens Point; SNE Enterprises Inc. of Mosinee; Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. of Two Rivers; and Wausau Paper Printing and Writing LLC of Brokaw.
The layoffs began last December and will continue through this December.
