PORTAGE, Wis. -

Portage police and Columbia County Sheriff’s officials said they’ve arrested eight people from throughout southern Wisconsin after one drug arrest led to more.

The eight people were arrested Friday.

A sheriff’s detective says they made one arrest in the investigation and more arrests were made throughout the county as buyers contacted those who had already been arrested.

Kevin J. Baumann Jr., 28, Portage, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a drug house.

Justin R. Crossen, 26, Oregon, was arrested on suspicion of attempted possession of narcotic drugs.

Garritt F. Gallmeier, 22, Brooklyn, was arrested on suspicion of attempted possession of narcotic drugs and attempted possession with intent to deliver heroin,

Marcus J. Katsma, 22, Pardeeville, was arrested on suspicion of attempted possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Alisha L. McCann, 22, Madison, was arrested on suspicion of attempted possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Andrew Melvin, 33, Baraboo, was arrested on suspicion of intent to deliver heroin.

Robert Plank, 26, Lodi, was arrested on suspicion of attempted possession of narcotic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony bail jumping.

Jason E. St Cyr, 23, Dalton, was arrested on suspicion of attempted possession of narcotic drugs and misdemeanor bail jumping.

All of those arrested are expect to make court appearances this week.
