MADISON, Wis. -

Madison’s Free Thought Festival kicked off this weekend with a rally supporting area atheists and agnostics.

More than 100 people marched down State Street up to the capitol, where speakers talked about the importance of showing pride for their beliefs.

“It’s about solidarity, it’s about everybody coming out and being proud of who they are and not feeling scared or ashamed to say so,” Freedom from Religion Foundation lawyer Andrew Seidel said of the event.

The Free Thought Festival continues through Sunday until 4:30 at the University of Wisconsin campus.
