A Dane County sheriff's deputy was injured when her unmarked squad car was hit and rolled over, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called to State Highway 19 at the three-way intersection of State Highway 113 and County Road I at 1 p.m. Thursday.

The investigation found a semitruck was traveling west on Highway 19 was stopped to make a left turn onto Highway 113. A pickup truck traveling north on County Road I stopped at the intersection, but then pulled out into the path of the westbound squad car and struck the rear drivers side of the car, causing the car to spin out of control and roll over.

The female deputy from Middleton sustained minor injuries. She was taken to Meriter Hospital, treated and released.

Because a deputy was involved, Waunakee police agreed to investigate the crash.

The squad car is a total loss.
