Department of Transportation moves forward with beltline construction
WisDOT will hold public forum to discuss project March 14
Wisconsin’s Department of Transportation is set to begin construction on two Madison Beltline bridges later this spring.
Bridges over the Yahara River located between South Towne Drive and Monona Drive will undergo construction beginning in late April or early May, according to a WisDOT statement. The project is set to be completed within five months.
According to the statement, all lanes will remain open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will be narrowed for construction during the evenings. Temporary ramp closures will also take place during the bridge construction.
WisDOT will hold a public forum on the construction at the Monona Public Library on March 14 at 4 p.m. Anyone interested in learning more about the project can call David Layton at 608-246-3821.
