BELOIT, Wis. -

Beloit’s Aldrich Elementary School held its 30th annual Book Quest Saturday morning.

More than 90 4th and 5th graders participated in the competition that had them answering questions about 30 books they’ve been reading since last summer.

Volunteers of the event said it not only brings more kids into Beloit’s Public Library, but it also gets them excited about reading.

“We get the list out to them probably in May, and they come into the library starting almost as soon as they get the list,” Jeni Schonier, Beloit Public Library’s youth services director, said.

All participants of the event, which included students from Beloit School District and Our Lady of Assumption private school, received medals for their hard work and preparation.
