MADISON, Wis. -- The U.S. House voted on a bill Wednesday that would prohibit tribes from building off-reservation casinos. The House voted in favor of the measure, but the bill fell short of the two-thirds majority needed to pass. Those with the Beloit Casino Project said they weren't worried about Wednesday's vote."We're not surprised that it happened, but we also know that we have to focus on getting our application to the governor's desk," said Joe Hunt, who does public relations for the Beloit Casino Project. The bill could come up again, but campaigning for November's elections could narrow the window for another vote in the house this session.
