Moving Out Day -- Again -- For Some Tenants

UPDATED: 7:36 am CDT August 14, 2006

Students started moving out on campus over the weekend.

But some apartments aren't yet ready for new renters.

Tenants at the flood-damaged Park Terrace hauled out their belongings all day Sunday. They have to be out of the units by noon on Monday.

For some of them, it's the second time in three weeks they've had to move. After the July 27 flood damage, many were evacuated.

"We are kind of getting used to it," said UW sophomore Zeb Breuckman. "We just moved in here for the summer. Then we had to move out in three months, but we had to move out for two weeks because of that flood, so we've done a lot of moving."

Repairs to ground-level units are preventing new tenants from moving in on Tuesday. Park Terrace management told WISC-TV they've made other living arrangements for affected residents.
