MADISON, Wis. -- Organizers are busy gearing up fro Thursday's ACT 4 AIDS Ride.Organizers are faced with the challenge of making preparations for hundreds of people in four different locations.Volunteers are busy getting supplies and food shipped out to the different camp sites, and after months of preparing the 300-mile route, organizers are making sure cyclists can follow it."Now it's going out and doing the marking and all that, so that takes a huge commitment ... trying to get all the proper markings on all those county roads so that riders know where to turn and which way to go, and the arrows are pointed right and all that good stuff," said Bob Powers, executive director of the AIDS Network.Without this critical fundraiser, Powers said it is likely AIDS Network would have to cut services and staff.Last year's ACT 3 Ride raised more than $305,000.WISC-TV will be on the road with ACT 4 on Thursday. Pam Tauscher will have stories from the route and Katy Sai will be cycling. Those interested in making a pledge can do so at ACTRIDE.org. Katy's rider number is 300.
