Investigators Think Drive-By Shootings Connected

Police Have One Suspect In Custody

Beloit police said they believe two weekend drive-by shootings are connected.

Authorities said they have a suspect in custody who is believed to be the driver in both shootings.

Police said the first incident happened in the 1400 block of Hull Avenue. The second occurred on the 1800 block of Dewey Avenue, police said.

Investigators believe these incidents were not random acts of violence.

"These are people that engage in risky behavior, sometimes even criminal activity, which lends itself to you becoming involved in incidents of this type. So everyday citizens walking around … don't have that much risk at all with these types of events happening," said Captain Bill Tyler of the Beloit Police Department.

Investigators are still waiting to confirm a motive for the shootings, WISC-TV reported.
