Analysis Finds Doyle's Top Contributions Came From Casino Interests

Green Has Raised $117K In Out-Of-State Funds

A new analysis of campaign contributions shows the top donors to Gov. Jim Doyle's re-election effort are all members of a family looking to build a new casino in Kenosha.

The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign report released on Tuesday said that Doyle received nearly $237,000 from Kenosha businessman Dennis Troha and members of his family between 2002 to 2005.

Troha has partnered with the Menominee and Connecticut-based Mohegan Indian tribes to build the $808 million casino complex at the current Dairyland Greyhound Park.

Doyle is being challenged by Republican U.S. Rep. Mark Green of Green Bay.

The new report said that Green has raised $117,000 in out-of-state funds since 2002, including nearly $45,000 last year when he announced his campaign.
