Wisconsin's Top Speller Gets A Queen Bee Welcome Home
Isabel Jacobson Placed 14th In National Spelling Bee

MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin's star speller received a reception fit for a queen bee Monday.Classmates at O'Keefe Middle School welcomed Isabel Jacobson home in style saying she is No. 1 in their eyes.Jacobson, a seventh-grader, placed 14th at the Scripps-Howard Spelling Bee last week.Jacobson and her friends munched on a cake that read, "Isabel Stung The Bee.""It's great that they were supporting me while I was at the spelling bee," said Jacobson. "I got some great comments on my blog from everybody.""We have been cheering for a week," said Jacobson's teacher Christy Fay. "When she left we were doing some cheers for her and making some announcements. All the while she's been gone we've been following her progress and checking her blog."Jacobson was the only student from Wisconsin to compete in the national spelling bee.
