A Wisconsin smokers' health study at the University of Wisconsin has reported some phenomenal results.

Early data from the first 350 subjects showed a 60 percent quit rate after two months.

A smoker trying to quit alone generally sees just a 5 percent quit rate, WISC-TV reported.

The study compares five different treatments for tobacco dependence and backs treatment with ongoing counseling.

For smoking-study participant Courtney Cantwell, this approach is working. She's been smoke free since December.

"To me it's been an amazing change physically. I hope I don't get emotional because this is -- really amazing. I can't say enough about the study. I hand out the cards to all the people who say they want to quit. I'm like, 'Here take this card -- you should do it,'" said Cantwell.

Researchers are still looking for study participants. Those who are at 18 years old and interested in the study can call (877) END-CIGS or go to EndCigs.com.
