Jensen Says He'll Appeal Guilty Conviction
Former Assembly Speaker Convicted Of 3 Felonies In Office

MADISON, Wis. -- Former Assembly Speaker Scott Jensen said he plans to appeal his guilty conviction.He's scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday, but he is asking Dane County Judge Steven Ebert to allow him to remain out on bond while he appeals his conviction.In court filings Friday, Jensen raised several issues with the instructions given to the jury before it deliberated his case.Prosecutors have asked for Jensen to be sent to prison for up to 20 months and then undergo another three and a half years of extended supervision after that.The former speaker was convicted of three felony counts of misconduct in public office and one misdemeanor count of intentional misuse of public position for private gain.
